The Breastfeeding Concert – Logo Design

The Breastfeeding Concert was an idea from a mother wanting to raise money for various breastfeeding charities. A subject close to our hearts at 1348 Design as we are members of La Lache League (LLL) a global breastfeeding charity which supports mothers with trained advisors and support groups.

Sarah Ortegon asked her local LLL group for ideas and designs to promote her concert. The concert will tie in with World Breastfeeding Week and as a musician herself she hopes others will take part, she also plans to commission songs about breastfeeding from contemporary classical composers.

As Sarah is based in Germany all communication was done via email and several sketches were drawn out before hand. With images of female nipples being banned from many social media platforms, a simple illustrative approach felt best. Designs included a milk and song note pattern and also simple typography. The chosen design is a vector drawing featuring a milk drop spotlight with hand script font with song notes and subtle soft colours.
